Why is it a turning point in history?
9/11 was a turning point in history for many reasons. First of all, it changed the way we all see each other. We look at strangers and are scared, thinking they could be a possible threat to us and our country. People walk through the streets scared, not knowing what’s going to happen. 9/11 left us living in fear of everything and everyone. Also, security is much more strict everywhere. Before 9/11 you could walk onto a plane without going through metal detectors, taking off your shoes, and putting everything in a bin to be checked and x-rayed. People were trusted not to bring guns or anything harmful on the planes, which is how the terrorists were able to pull off what they did. Patriotism has changed in America because of 9/11. Most Americans had some patriotism, but since 9/11 it has became much more important to people. It has changed all of our lives in many different ways; from losing family members to security at airports. 9/11 was definitely changed a lot of lives, and was a huge turning point.
Our Sense of Security
It has always been a natural thing for people to be afraid. After September 11, 2001 America's people got a fear for each other. Today, nobody trusts a stranger on the street. 9/11 taught people that you are never safe and should always live with precautions. Not necessarily live in fear, but just to be aware of your surroundings.

Security
Before 9/11 you could simply walk into a airport and board your plane. Now days, you will go through procedures such as screening, metal detectors, luggage checking, and clothing checks. These procedures are the airports taking precautions to prevent harm to our country. Security in airports were not just affected by 9/11. Many other places now have tight security.

Patriotism
"Probably, 9/11 has had a bigger impact on me than any other event of my lifetime." said by Nick Kavounas. "I would say that patriotism before 9/11 was probably at a seven. After 9/11, it was 10 plus 10." also said by Kavounas. Patriotism in America has never been so outrageous. After 9/11 occurred, americas patriotism had an outburst. Americans love for their country rose up. Now days, you see Americas flag flying up high, almost everywhere. By doing this, it is one of the main ways to show patriotism. Positive things rose from the ashes of 9/11. Still today, people remember and continue to show their love and respect for all of the people who died on the day of Sep 11, 2001.
