The Pentagon.
When we think of 9/11, most think of the Twin Towers; but 9/11 was much more than just that. The Pentagon is a building located in Washington, D.C., that houses the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. On 9/11 Al Qaeda drove a plane through this important building. American Airlines flight 77 departed and was bound for Los Angeles. The plane demolished light poles in the parking lot, hit the ground just outside the Pentagon, turned up on its wing, and went through the E ring midway between corridors 4 and 5. Flight 77 then traveled through the D ring and into the C ring.
When the plane crashed into the Pentagon, it wasn't nearly as devastating as the Twin Towers. The damage wasn't as bad either. The Pentagon is a very important building to the U.S, and if the plane did more damage we could have been in even more trouble. There were a total of 64 passengers aboard flight 77, including 6 crew members. There were a total of 6 terrorists aboard as well. The capacity of the flight could have been 239, but only had 64 aboard. Not as many people were affected at the Pentagon, but 125 people died. 59 people in the plane died, not including the terrorists.
